Online Course
This course is for any physiotherapist who is not 100% confident in assessing and treating clients with cervical and mid-back pain. Physiotherapy has evolved due to COVID with the addition of telehealth services. Now it is as important as ever for physiotherapists to have a classification system that is effective and successful for diagnosing and treating clients with neck and/or mid-back pain, whether the client is in our office, or over telehealth.
Neck and mid-back pain affects over 70% of the population, and can be very painful and scary for the patient. Giving the patient a diagnosis, reassurance regarding mechanical pain, and a home exercise program will enable them to manage their pain at home, and not have to go the emergency room.
The Simple Approach to Neck and Mid-Back Pain: Assessment and Treatment will include:
- essential history taking,
- physical examination, and
- pain control strategies for the patient.
- You will be able to give a diagnosis based on a syndrome-based approach,
- pain control strategies and education to help patients manage their pain at home after the assessment.
- Manual therapy techniques for neck and mid-back will also be demonstrated.
- There will be examples of assessment and treatment along with case studies and exercise progression.
Please note: this course will be a pre-requisite for The Simple Approach to Concussion which will be held on June 12, 2021.
